We know that forests produce more than just timber. They help keep a balanced ecosystem, regulate water and provide other economic benefits. Forests are also the lungs of our plant providing the oxygen we all need to live.
Unfortunately for many years the forests continue to be cut and drained, at the same time, the local communities rarely get long-term benefits from the clearing of the forests. This destructive way of managing forests cannot go on. We Need to Change! We have to think of a way to utilize forests that provide sustainable long-term benefits.
The Government of Indonesia has formulated a policy that provide an opportunity for EnTI, cooperatives and community groups to obtain a forest concession to protect and restore forests. Ecosystem services could support Government of Indonesia on protecting the forests from threats such as forest fires, illegal logging, deforestation and other threats that could destroy the forests. EnTI will also restore the forests by replanting it with endemic species, combine with commercial species.
To support and help the world to become more clean & green, EnTI will also work closely with local communities to utilize the forest resources sustainably. EnTI will work closely with communities to develop community-owned enterprises for non-timberforest products, eco-tourism, and many others.
One of the sources to fund is by implementing carbon trading scheme. Protected forests absorb CO2 and prevent greenhouse gasses from being released into the atmosphere to cause global warming and climate change. Industrial and other businesses who produce emission are suitable to apply this scheme (reducing emissions can temporarily offset by compensating effective forest conservation efforts).
